  • 1954 Artist Asem Abdul Amir was born in Diwaniyah, Iraq.
  • 1961 - 1971 He completed his primary, middle and secondary school studies in Diwaniyah.
  • 1977 He held a solo exhibition at Athar Gallery in Baghdad.
  • 1975 - 1979 He studied and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
  • 1979 He held a solo exhibition at the Syndicate of Artists in Diwaniyah.
  • 1980 He participated in the exhibition "The Tower" in Germany, and founded with other artists "The Group of Four" and participated in all exhibitions.
  • 1981 He participated in the Young Artists Exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
  • 1982 He obtained a master's degree in painting in Baghdad and participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition at Al-Riwaq Hall in Baghdad.
  • 1985 He participated in the first plastic arts exhibition on the occasion of the International Year of Youth in Baghdad.
  • 1989 He participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition in Sharjah, UAE, and won its prize.
  • 1992 He participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition at the Art Center in Baghdad and won its prize.
  • 1995 He participated in the Contemporary Arab Art Exhibition at the Arts Center in Baghdad and won the Arab Plastic Artists Union Prize.
  • 1997 He obtained a doctorate degree in the aesthetics of modern painting in Baghdad and held a solo exhibition at Athar Gallery in Baghdad.
  • 1999 He won the Creativity Prize for Artistic Studies from the Ministry of Culture in Baghdad and the Special Jury Prize at the International Committee of the Red Cross at the Art Center in Baghdad.
  • 2000 He participated in the exhibition "Magic of Moments in Nature and Place" at Gallery Art in Baghdad.
  • 2011 He won the Iraqi Creativity Prize from the Ministry of Culture in Baghdad.
  • 2012 He participated in an exhibition of three artists at the House of Music in Amman, Jordan.
  • 2013 He participated in the exhibition "Iraqi Spaces - Joint Annual Fine Exhibition" at the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad and the first Arab Plastic Art Festival at the Ishtar Hall in the National Library in Amman and the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition at the Baghdad Forum for Plastic Arts "We Color Baghdad with Love and Peace" in The Department of Fine Arts in Baghdad and the Babylon International Festival and won the Iraqi Creativity Prize.
  • 2014 He participated in the exhibition "Babylonian Hymns" at Al-Owais Cultural Foundation in Dubai, UAE, and the exhibition "Al-Rafidain Blogs" with artists Mahmoud Shubbar and Fakher Mohammad at the Urjwan Gallery in Beirut, Lebanon.
  • 2015 He participated in the annual exhibition of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad.
  • 2016 He participated in the exhibition "Iraqi Painters" of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association and the Lebanese Association of Painting and Sculpture in Beirut.

  • He is a full-time artist and professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Babylon in Hilla, Iraq.
