1971 Artist Delair Shakir was born in the capital, Baghdad, Iraq. He is the son of the well-known Ceramist Saad Shaker.
1977 - 1986 He completed his primary and middle school studies in Baghdad.
1986 - 1990 He studied ceramic art and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
1992 He participated in Al- Wasiti Festival in Baghdad and won the first prize.
In the nineties, he left Iraq and traveled to settle in Amman, Jordan. During his stay in Amman, he headed the art department at the Ahlia Girls' School.
2005 He participated in an exhibition honoring the artists Shaker Hassan Al-Said and Ismail Fattah at Athar Gallery in Baghdad and an exhibition entitled "Dialogue of Generations" with artist Muhammad Mahruddin at Al-Orfali Gallery in Amman and traveled with his family to settle in Phoenix, Arizona.
2006 He held a solo exhibition entitled "The Journey" at a private hall in Amman and participated in the exhibition "From Baghdad to New York: Part II of the Iraqi Phoenix Group" at the Pomegranate Gallery in New York in the United States of America and the "INNternational House" exhibition in Newark, Delaware, in the United States of America.
2007 He participated in the exhibition "Cab Calloway of the Arts" at Museum Gallery in Wilmington, Delaware, and the International Cultural Arts Network (ICAN) exhibition in Delaware, USA."
2008 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Traces of Time" at Karim Gallery in Amman.
2009 He participated in the exhibition "Modernism and Iraq" at the Wallach Art Gallery at Columbia University in New York.
2010 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Tales of Flame" at Olney Room Gallery in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, and participated in the exhibition "A Chair and A Painting" at Al-Bareh Gallery in Bahrain and the Santa Fe International Contemporary Art Fair in Santa Fe in New Mexico and Contemporary Forum of the Phoenix Museum in Phoenix.
2011 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Sand Trails" at Paul Scott Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona. He participated in the exhibition "Contemporary Art in Iraq Today" at the Meem Gallery in Dubai and the exhibition "Art in Iraq Today" at the Beirut Exhibition Center in Beirut and participated in an exhibition with the artist Mohammad Mahruddin in Amman.
2012 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Home: A Virtual Reality" at Karim Gallery in Amman.
2014 He held a solo exhibition, "New Home Structures" at Paul Scott Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona.
2016 He participated in an exhibition with the artist Salem Al-Dabbagh at Al-Orfali Hall in Amman.
2017 He returned to Amman with his family to settle there and began working in his studio.
2019 He participated in the exhibition "Contemporary Artists from Iraq" at Ras Al-Ain Gallery in Amman.
2019 - 2020 He managed a project for Arab ceramics and held an exhibition "Creatures of Imagination - Contemporary Arab Ceramics" at the Jordan Museum of Art with the participation of forty Arab artists from different Arab countries.
2020 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Intertwined" at Dar Al-Mashreq in Amman. He participated in the exhibition "Theater of Operations: The Gulf Wars 1991- 2011" at the Moma PS1 Museum in New York, and an interview episode was published of him in "Atraf Al-Hadith" program on Al-Sharqiya Channel.
He held several solo exhibitions and participated in many art exhibitions inside and outside Iraq.
He lives and works full-time for art in Amman, Jordan.
