1922 Artist Khaled Al-Jadir was born in Baghdad, Iraq.
1940 He studied law at the College of Law and art at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad at the same time.
1946 He graduated from law school but did not pursue a legal career after graduation.
1947 He was employed as a teacher of painting in Al-Adhamiya High School, participated in the college’s exhibition and won its prize. He also participated in the international art exhibition in Cairo.
1948 He got a mission from the Iraqi government to complete his post-graduation in France, studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris (Beaux Arts) where he was passionate and his talents improved. He found what he was looking for and was influenced by the Impressionist School. Through his frequent visits to the museums he admired the works of the Impressionists such as Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and Frédéric Bazille, Georges_Seurat and dozens of other great artists.
After graduating in 1952 from Les Beaux Arts De Paris, he further got a PhD scholarship.
1954 He remained in France and completed his thesis, which was titled "Iraqi Manuscripts Photographed from The Medieval Period- Preserved in the National Library in Paris" and discussed it and obtained the PhD based upon it.
1954 He returned to Baghdad, joined the Visual Artists Association and was appointed as its president. He got hired as a teacher at Queen Alia College in Baghdad.
1955 He held his first solo exhibition in Baghdad, displaying 126 works he created during his stay in Paris.
1956 He held a solo exhibition in Berlin, East Germany.
1956 He participated in the Baghdad Exhibition for Painting and Sculpture at Al-Mansour Club and presented eight works.
1957 He participated in the Iraqi art exhibition at the UNESCO conference in Beirut and presented five works.
1958 He participated in “The Revolution” Exhibition at the Republican Sports Club and presented three works.
1959 He became Dean of the Institute of Fine Arts.
1960 He held a solo exhibition in Prague, Czech Republic.
1961 He became Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts.
1965 - 1966 He traveled to Berlin in East Germany, lived for a short period, and returned to Iraq.
1968 He held a solo exhibition in Bucharest, capital of Romania
1969 - 1970 He traveled to Saudi Arabia to work as a temporary teacher for history at the University of Riyadh and held a solo exhibition for the works he made during his time in Riyadh.
1971 He was elected Captain of Iraqi Artists.
1972 He participated in the first Arab Festival of Fine Art in Damascus.
1973 He founded the Union of Arab Plastic Artists in Baghdad and held exhibitions in East Germany, Algeria and Saudi Arabia.
1974 He participated in the cultural festival of Al-Thawra Newspaper in Baghdad.
March 24, 1979 He held a solo exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad and displayed sixty-five oil paintings
1980 He traveled to Rabat to be a teacher at the Higher Institute of Journalism and taught the subject of Arab-Islamic Civilization.
In addition to Arabic, he spoke English, French and German.
December 2, 1988 The artist passed away in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the age of sixty-six.
2008 His body was transferred from Saudi Arabia to Iraq and buried in the family cemetery in Baghdad.
