1963 Artist Nazar Yahya was born in the capital, Baghdad, Iraq.
1970 - 1980 He completed his primary, middle and secondary school studies in Baghdad.
1982 - 1986 He studied and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad.
At the beginning of the eighties, he worked as an illustrator for children's magazines in Baghdad.
1985 He participated in the Fredrickstad Biennale in Norway.
1994 He held his first solo exhibition of graphics at Al-Riwaq Gallery, Baghdad.
1995 He participated in an exhibition at Hiwar Hall in Baghdad.
1996 He participated in an exhibition of contemporary Iraqi graphic art at Hiwar Hall in Baghdad.
1997 He participated in an exhibition at the Baghdad Hall in Baghdad and an exhibition honoring the artist Jawad Salim at Athar Hall in Baghdad and the Environment and Surroundings Exhibition in Iraqi Art at the Jordanian National Museum in Amman, Jordan.
1999 He participated in the Fifty Years of Iraqi Graphic Art exhibition at Darat al Funun in Amman and a joint exhibition by three Iraqi artists at the Ajyal Gallery in Beirut, Lebanon.
2000 He held his second solo exhibition at the French Cultural Center in Amman, Jordan, and participated in the Fredrickstad Triennale in Norway.
2001 He participated in an exhibition of six Iraqi artists at Dar Al-Bareh in Bahrain.
2002 He held his third solo exhibition, entitled "Steel and Asphalt Memory ", at the French Cultural Center in Doha, Qatar, and participated in the Asian Art Biennale in Bangladesh.
2003 He participated in the exhibition "Before. After. Now" at Al-Fakher Gallery in London, United Kingdom, and the exhibition of Contemporary Artists from Iraq at Gallery Green Art in Dubai, UAE.
2004 He held his fourth solo exhibition entitled "Blocks" at Al-Orfali Gallery in Amman, Jordan.
2005 He participated in the exhibition "Creative Improvisations" by seven Iraqi artists at Bisan Gallery in Doha, Qatar, an exhibition at 4 Walls Gallery in Amman, the exhibition "Dafatir: Contemporary Iraqi Book Art" at the University of North Texas in Houston, and the exhibition "Texas Iraqi Artists" at the Montparnasse Museum in Paris.
2006 He participated in the exhibition "Dafatir: Contemporary Iraqi Book Art" at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, the University of Texas Gallery in El Paso, Texas, an exhibition at the Daura Gallery at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia, and the exhibition "The World in Art: Modern Middle Eastern Artists" In the British Museum in London.
2007 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Beard Land" at Karim Gallery in Amman and participated in the exhibition "Dafatir: Contemporary Iraqi Book Art" at the Book Arts Center in New York, an exhibition in the Minneapolis Athenaeum in Minneapolis, Minnesota, an exhibition at the NIU Museum of Art in DeKalb, Illinois, and an exhibition at the Jaffe Center for Book Arts in Boca Raton, Florida, and the " Negative Positive to Iraqi Artists" exhibition at Dar Al-Bareh in Bahrain.
2008 He held a solo exhibition at Sultan Gallery in Kuwait and decided to move to Houston, in the United States of America. He participated in the exhibition "Dafatir: Contemporary Iraqi Book Art" at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and "Word in Art: Artists from the Modern Middle East" exhibition at the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) in Dubai.
2010 He participated in the exhibition "A Chair and Painting" at Dar Al Bareh in Bahrain, "My Homeland" exhibition at the Art Sawa Gallery in Dubai, and the exhibition "Sajjil: A Century of Modern Art" at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha and the exhibition "Art in Iraq Today: Part II" at Meem Gallery in Dubai.
2011 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Yusuf" at Dar Al-Bareh in Bahrain and participated in the exhibition "Art in Iraq Today: Conclusion" at Meem Gallery in Dubai and the exhibition "On the Edge of the New" at Wade Wilson Art Gallery in Houston.
2012 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Rosewater" at Wade Wilson Art Gallery in Houston and participated in the exhibition "Artefactual Realities" at the Station Museum in Houston and the exhibition "Impressions" at Wade Wilson Art Gallery in Houston.
2014 He held a solo exhibition entitled "The Truth" at Wade Wilson Art Gallery in Houston.
2015 He held a solo exhibition entitled "Restoration" at Meem Gallery in Dubai.
2017 He held a solo exhibition at Gallery Marc Hashem in Beirut, Lebanon.
2019 He held a solo entitled "The Shield of Life" was held at Karim Gallery in Amman.
2019 – 2020 He participated in an exhibition "Objects of Imagination – Contemporary Arab Ceramics" in Jordan National Museum Gallery with the participation of forty Arab artists from different Arab countries in Amman.
He held several solo exhibitions and participated in many art exhibitions inside and outside Iraq.
He lives and works full-time between Houston, Texas, in the United States of America, Doha - Qatar, visiting Amman, Beirut - Lebanon.
