- 1927 Nadira Azzouz was born in Iraq. She began drawing from an early age as she demonstrated her skill while still in elementary school.
- 1960 She studied, graduated and earned a BA in Art from the Central School of Art, London. She began to paint in an abstract style since the beginning of the fifties, and thus she may be considered the pioneer of abstract art among the Iraqi artists.
- She studied the art of still life and free hand drawing in Cambridge, UK.
- 1971 She held her first solo exhibition in Baghdad.
- 1972 She participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition at the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
- 2013 She held a solo exhibition entitled "East meets West", at Westbank Gallery in Westbourne Grove, London.
- 2017 She held a solo exhibition at Mar Behnam Church in northern Iraq.
- She has held several exhibitions inside and outside Iraq, and the artist currently resides in London.
- Stories Art Gallery celebrated the artist, saying: “Nadira Azzouz’s art: For her, painting has often been a communication with inner visions and eruptions to which no figure or word could do justice, hence her emphasis and resourceful play on color.” In her later works, one can see her pursuit of a richer and more refined influence, suggesting mastery of the technique.
